Privacy Policy

Summary: Solara does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data with any server. All your data stays on your device. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no account required.

1. Introduction

Solara ("the Extension") is a Chrome new-tab dashboard extension developed by CORUH R&D and Technology (Dr. Ugur CORUH). This privacy policy explains how the Extension handles user data.

2. Data Collection

Solara does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

No personal information is collected (name, email, etc.)
No usage analytics or telemetry data is sent to any server
No cookies are used for tracking purposes
No advertising IDs or fingerprinting is performed
No user accounts or sign-ins are required

3. Data Storage

All user preferences and data are stored locally on your device using:

localStorage — Settings, preferences, widget configurations
Chrome Storage API — Backup of settings for persistence across browser updates
IndexedDB — Locally imported background images and downloaded ambient sound files

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any external server.

4. Chrome Permissions

The Extension requires the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for the described purpose:

5. External Services

Solara connects to the following third-party services. No personal data is sent:

6. Location Data

If you configure weather or prayer times, you may enter a location. This data is:

Stored locally on your device only
Sent to weather/prayer APIs only when fetching updates
Never shared with any other party
Deletable at any time by clearing settings

7. Ambient Sounds

When you search for ambient sounds, your search query is sent to the Freesound.org API. Downloaded sounds are stored locally in IndexedDB on your device. No listening history or usage data is collected.

7b. Git Sync (Optional)

If you enable Git Sync, your settings are pushed to a Git repository (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Gitea) that you own. Only your personal access token and repository URL are used. Solara does not store your token on any server — it is saved locally in your browser. The synced data contains only your extension settings (no browsing history, no personal data beyond what you configure).

8. Children's Privacy

Solara does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The Extension does not require any personal information to function.

9. Data Sharing

Solara does not share any data with third parties. There are no advertising partners, analytics providers, or data brokers involved.

10. Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by:

Using the "Reset All Settings" button in Settings
Uninstalling the Extension (all local data is removed)
Clearing your browser's local storage and IndexedDB

11. Transparency

Solara is a free application developed by CORUH R&D and Technology. No data collection occurs. You can verify this by inspecting the extension via Chrome DevTools.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date. Since Solara does not collect data, significant changes are unlikely.
